PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The development of excellent quality mobile software to agreed technical specifications and client/supplier requirements.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical lead in complex projects within their department, providing support and mentoring to developers and junior developers involved within the project.
- Develop mobile software following technical specifications in the required languages.
- Involved in the design and sign off of technical solutions.
- Aid the team leader in creating and delivering of low level development processes.
- Address any technical issues and bugs as identified by QA to ensure that project plans remain on schedule and to budget.
- Regularly record project progress on production system and implement any remedial action necessary to ensure it matches the original specification and meets company quality standards.
- Ensure version, backup and archiving procedures are completed during the life-cycle of each project in line with the company standards.
- Undertake post project review on each project to identify knowledge learned and develop process improvements.
- Undertake any ad hoc projects as allocated by your line manager.
- Identify options to address specification and technical production issues.
- Provide support to the development team leader when required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical subject from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education, on-the-job experience, and training.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience of developing software solutions, preferably in the mobile sector or similar.
- Must be technically literate in the languages, systems and applications currently in use by the Company and detailed in the skills specification.
- Proven track record in delivering development projects to agreed quality, time and specifications.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Proficient at technical design, OO skills and familiarity with UML preferred.
- Good at working to deadlines.
