I came across this great infographic (here) this morning which depicts the
development of text messaging.
It is amazing to think that in 1995 Americans sent on average
just 0.4 text messages a month, that's just under 5 a year.
When you compare this to 2011, with the average person sending
357 a month (4284 a year) you can see just how much it has taken
off.
The most incredible part for me though was Andrew Acklin's
record for the number of text messages sent in one
month….200,052. Is that some sort of joke?! There
are roughly 40,000 minutes in a month, which means he was sending 5
messages a minute, every minute…for a month.
Incredible.
More importantly, just think what his phone bill must have
looked like…
