Transactions in Own Shares

The Company announces that it has today purchased through Numis Securities Limited 109,825 ordinary shares at a price of 127.5 pence per share. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

The Company also announces that it has today sold 210,099 ordinary shares, which were held as treasury shares, pursuant to the exercise of share options in the Company. The exercise price for the options was 21.88 pence each.

Following the above purchase, the Company holds 899,726 ordinary shares in treasury and has a total of 32,606,968 ordinary shares in issue, excluding those shares held in treasury.

The net movement in ordinary shares today represented 0.3% of the voting rights attributable to the total ordinary shares in issue prior to such purchases.
