2ergo Develops Australia's First Live Streaming iPhone App for Vodafone Hutchison Australia

13 January 2010

Sydney, Australia - 2ergo, the AIM listed provider of mobile enabling technology for marketing, business, media and entertainment, has been commissioned by Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) to develop Australia's first ever live streaming application for Apple® iPhone™.1

The new Cricket LIVE iPhone application provides sport mad Aussies on the 3 and Vodafone networks with live streaming on their Apple iPhones every Australian international cricket match in the 2009/2010 Season – including International Test Matches, One day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals.  In addition, live scores, ball-by-ball commentary, push notifications of Fall of Wickets and Cricket Australia TV Videos with player interviews and behind the scenes footage can be enjoyed by everybody who downloads the app, no matter what network they are on. Viewers can share the action with friends via email, Facebook and Twitter, and an alert function also reminds customers of upcoming future match schedules, so they won't miss a ball.

2ergo was selected by VHA for its experience in developing smartphone streaming applications for some of the world's most influential brands. 2ergo has built on its extensive experience with leading brands, such as Arsenal Football Club, to develop a paid-for application that enables VHA to bring the best in mobile services to its customers. The multi-layered app can support and identify numerous user interface presentation layers, different services delivery and different charging constructs, all in an access controlled manner.

“We are excited to bring yet another first to the Australian market – live streaming of one of the nation’s favourite sports – direct to our customers’ fingertips,” said Amanda Hutton, General Manager, Internet and Services, Vodafone Hutchison Australia.

“The Cricket LIVE iPhone application is set to change the way consumers engage with mobile technology and illustrates the potential for smartphone technology to revolutionise the way in which consumers access information on the move,” said Adam Ward, 2ergo’s General Manager, Australia. “The paid-for application enables VHA to deliver superior mobile content directly to its customers who in turn benefit from up-to-the minute content that can be quickly and easily shared with friends.”

Chris Brassington, Group Managing Director, 2ergo said, “Paid-for applications provide enormous opportunity for brands to capitalize on the potential of mobile technology and 2ergo’s expertise in mobile technology enables brands to effectively engage this powerful medium. Live streaming technology is taking hold of Australia and the Cricket LIVE iPhone application highlights the increasing demand for mobile services such as this.”

The Cricket LIVE iPhone application is available for everyone in Australia to download from the Apple App Store for $1.19 to access score up dates, running commentary and match reports and a number of other action-packed features. Vodafone and 3 customers can buy a Cricket TV Day Pass at a cost of $2.49 per day to enable access to the live stream.2

2ergo now offers brands, broadcasters and agencies mobile Internet, smartphone application and mobile marketing services, including interactive messaging, mobile ticketing and coupons, mobile security and payments, Location Based Services (LBS) and live video and audio streaming.
