Case Study: Rightmove

Rightmove goes mobile with 2ergo

Logo_Rightmove2ergo joined forces with Rightmove, the UK’s Number One Property website, to expand their highly successful online services to the wider mobile arena. Selected for its extensive knowledge of Location Based Services (LBS), map delivery and business approach to developing mobile internet sites, 2ergo was contracted to develop an engaging mobile presence that would deliver property details to Rightmove users on the move, and capture valuable sales leads for Rightmove’s 11,500 estate agent branch members.

Solution

Launched in June, as part of Vodafone Mobile Internet, the Rightmove mobile service (mobile.rightmove.co.uk) enables mobile users to search for properties by keying in their postcode or by using LBS to determine their current location. Photos and maps for over 850,000 UK properties can now be accessed by mobile users, who can use the mobile portal to request a call back from agents or contact them directly.

Result

Peter Brooks-Johnson, Rightmove’s Product Development Director commented: “Rightmove is widely known as the best place to find property on the internet. We felt it was important to extend that service to people on the move or even outside their dream home! Given the rapid rise in the use of mobile internet we think it will be a big help to both home buyers and sellers.”

“We greatly value Rightmove’s reputation for simplicity and reliability and were therefore very cautious about entrusting a third party to build and operate our mobile site. 2ergo is an innovative company with proven experience in providing excellent service. The quality and speed of the development along with their project approach has been very impressive and we are looking forward to a long term relationship with them.”

The service has proved extremely successful, exceeding expectations for visitor usage. The success of the mobile internet site has also been recognised by Vodafone who presented 2ergo with a prestigious award for Innovation.
